Hi Erin, I’m glad to see you moving in to flowers. This is a great study page for your first foray! Lovely details on the petals. The one comment I have is that you seem to be losing some of the dynamics. The highlights are missing and I’d like to see a few darker darks in those little triangles where the petals meet.
Great page, Erin! I love how you are studying all of those different elements. You did a nice job of showing those individual stamen – not an easy task!. I especially like that flower in the middle of the page, and how you are using darker value to show how the place where the stamen attach at the center receeds. You can really see it dipping down. You can push that a little more. Yellows are hard, and your shadow colors are really natural looking. Good job!
