Zoom Workshop 86: Measuring & Perspective

Sun, June 11: 3pm – 7pm EST
Thur, June 15: 4pm – 6pm EST
Instructors: Pam & Sam
Level: All levels (great for beginners!)
Botanical Subject(s): Any fruit that will create a round cross-section when cut in half (ex. kiwi, citrus fruit (lemon, orange, lime, grapefruit, etc.), stone fruit (peach, nectarine, etc.) tomato, apple, etc.)
Workshop Description: The secret to realistic botanical illustrations is accurate measuring from your unique viewpoint! As something tilts away from us, its physical form does not change, but our perception of it does. We’ll study perspective, the most effective way to read a ruler, and how to illustrate the illusion of foreshortening using cross-sections of round fruits.
