Hi Doug, I brought the subject inside under correct lighting and it does make a difference. I haven’t finished putting the yellows and would like to know how much or how little to add. There are no white highlights on the plant but leaving in some white brings out the colours. Should I add more shading? I feel like I overdid the shading on the left side of the bottong petal.
Hi Helene- this looks great! I don’t think you overdid the shading on that petal. You might consider using a green (earth green or a medium green) for the toning on yellow subjects rather than dark sepia, etc which will muddy yellow colors. You can certainly keep some highlights. I would add a little more toning on the petals in the well area and I would tone the base of the style to emphasize that it is down in the well. Great job!
