Workshop Description: Nature journaling combines science and art to help you slow down, observe, and interact creatively with the natural world. In this workshop, we will use all our senses to develop illustrations, words, diagrams, and numbers to show information and share our experiences in nature. We will create accordion-style booklets together to use as our Nature Journals. Basic pen and drawing techniques will be taught, but the emphasis is less on precise drawing, and more on good observations, questions, and anything else you would like to add to your pages. We may even invite a nature journal artist to join us for a specific lesson on drawing bugs, birds, or landscapes.
Our workshops include a set of pre-recorded videos for you to watch as you prepare for class, as well as recordings of each workshop session, delivered via email. We encourage collaboration and community, and we strive to create a safe virtual environment for everyone to draw together. We provide live demonstrations on the first day of a workshop and constructive critique of your work on the second day. If you are unable to attend at the time of the live workshop, you will receive recordings to watch at your convenience. ALL of the registration and video material for this workshop is delivered to you via email. Cancellation Policy: Cancellations at least one week in advance will receive a 95% refund (5% processing fee), or you can choose to transfer your registration to another available workshop. If you cancel less than one week up to 48 hours before the event, we will give you a 95% refund, less 5% if we can find someone to replace your spot. Less than 48 hours cancellation, we cannot issue a refund. You will still receive all recordings from the workshop, and you can watch them at your convenience.
