Botanical Subject(s): Ingredients from a recipe of your choice

Workshop Description: You can still join our Recipe Composition Workshop! Watch the recording of Session 1, and then join us for the 4 remaining sessions and Open Studio for a discounted price!

This long-term project over several sessions combines your botanical illustration, lettering, and composition skills to create an illustrated, hand-lettered recipe page. It will end with an online exhibition, showcasing everyone’s finished recipe pages. See past projects here.

Recipe pages can be simple or complex; one page or an entire booklet; scale the project to whatever feels comfortable for you.

Choose a Recipe: This can be simple or advanced, with many ingredients or just a few (…mint tea? …ratatouille?). A family heirloom recipe, a household favorite, a garden showcase! We recommend choosing a recipe with lots of plant ingredients, so that you have many botanical options to draw.

You are encouraged to attend our Open Studio Hours (Add-on above) to set aside time to work on this long-term project and connect with other participants as we work together.

Our workshops include a set of pre-recorded videos for you to watch as you prepare for class, as well as recordings of each workshop session, delivered via email. We encourage collaboration and community, and we strive to create a safe virtual environment for everyone to draw together. We provide live demonstrations on the first day of a workshop and constructive critique of your work on the second day. If you are unable to attend at the time of the live workshop, you will receive recordings to watch at your convenience. ALL of the registration and video material for this workshop is delivered to you via email. Please be sure to add info@drawbotanical.com to your email contacts so that you do not miss correspondence from us!

Cancellation Policy: Cancellations at least one week in advance will receive a 95% refund (5% processing fee), or you can choose to transfer your registration to another available workshop. If you cancel less than one week up to 48 hours before the event, we will give you a 95% refund, less 5% if we can find someone to replace your spot. Less than 48 hours cancellation, we cannot issue a refund. You will still receive all recordings from the workshop, and you can watch them at your convenience.
