Like if I were to want to draw an actual botanical illustration I’d get a more representative beet and omit confusing details like some random long beet arm crossing over. (This bag of beets were all the strangest beets I’ve ever seen and they were very woody!)

I think I was trying to draw the root as I saw it and it did have a crazy root structure. I don’t know how to make artistic decisions just yet, especially before I start a drawing but I do see that it kind of interrupts the picture.
