Let’s not talk too much about the light source… I was rotating my page around as paint dried. 🙂 Practising different techniques from Wendy’s videos.
Lovely, Peta — I want to enter your world and take note of all the details! I love that you make boxes to focus on particular elements. And that you incorporate text on the page. What kind of organism is that on the top branch?
Thank you so much @maureenclare! I was thinking of you when I posted it because it was my first try at lichen. Still a long way to go, but gotta start somewhere. You said the other day that you love study pages and I agree that they are great. There is no one element that I love here, but the overall effect is ace. Maybe I’ll just spend my life on study pages instead of ever actually doing a proper drawing. 🙂 Those little things on the branch at the top are a type of nut. They grow on trees we call ‘bottle brushes’ and I love these because they are all along the actual branches instead of just hanging off the ends.
Lovely work page and composition. Your lichens are identifiable. I find the modeling on lichens is hard to do in such small spaces. You need a really sharp point..I think its a great job, as is.
