One of the best combinations of plants ever. 🙂 I think some dark sepia in your sepals would make them pop. Smoothing out the tomato so it read as shiny. Some more darks in the leaves too for a more full range of values. And a cross section or cut tomato would add to the composition don’t you think?! Great work showing me tomato and basil – I can clearly read it.
Thanks for the feedback Sam. Very helpful. I added more colour and a cut tomato. Just not so happy with my drawing of the cut tomato or its shadow. Anyway, I’ll keep practicing 😊
Hmm, it won’t allow me to comment on your new cross section addition on the other photo so I’ll chat here. Compositionally, I might add another leaf coming diagonally in the space between the cross section and the basil leaves. I love it that you jumped right in there and added that cut section! It may have been more interesting to show me the cut halves of both sides? But I still like it. I hope you had fun with that cross section. Keep up the good work. Always check your placement of highlights.
