Hi Wendy, I did shade first with a deep purple pencil to define the form and shadows. Then a single pink watercolour layer and finally lots of layering with lots of colours. I’m not sure how long it took because I am now trying to draw for shorter time periods more often, because life gets in the way and my neck and shoulders stiffen up if I get too intense. 😘
