Hi there, I got busy with the start of my daughters’ school year but I’m glad to be back here. This morning I played flower detective via Google and learned that the flowering shrub in our backyard that I plan to make the subject of my sketchbook of the seasons is a Lucy Rose of Sharon hibiscus. Looking forward to getting started today 🙂

Amy, this will make a great Sketchbook of the Seasons! I bet this plant has awesome seed pods in fall/winter! 🙂
I hope! I am about to upload drawings I’ve done of some leaves for the “leaf” lesson, but it is also the first page of my sketchbook. Our shrub is drooping fast – I wanted to do a leaf before it all turns brown. I’ll keep a close eye to see what drops off that would be interesting to draw.
