Beautiful composition Heidi and the fresh colors are wonderful! There are a couple of areas I would revisit. The bud in the back is missing a highlight and a range of tones that would convey it’s cylindrical form. Using a green pencil instead of dark sepia would help you retain the beautiful color. There is something off about the center of the flower. I think some darker toning at the base of the center, left petal would help it read better. Currently there is a real division between the three petals on the left and the three petals on the right. You are almost there!
Such a lovely composition, Heidi! And you are doing a beautiful job with those curling petals. I went into photoshop and did some quick drawing just to show you where I think you could add some darks. And then in the upper left hand corner of the image, I copied the darks that I added so you can see what I did. This is rough, but I thought it might give you an idea. Hope it helps!

Thanks Doug!
It is really helpful to see it. I will continue working on the drawing. Thanks Pam!
