I was looking at the previous comments on this drawing and agree that it is a really fine drawing, especially the top. I also agree about adding shading to the bottom right. And I think your addition helps, but the application could be better. Think about the reflective light and the core shadow. Check out Wendy’s “The Joy of Botanical Drawing” pages 35, 36. Also , I would go back over the brown you have used darken with the red to bring back some color. I hate to say it looks a bit like it is rotting on that side. 🙂
Hi Katy, thank you for your feedback. I think you got some vibes from my original apple which was totally rotten at the time I made the changes.🙂 I used my imagination to add more shadows but I agree with you, I had the feeling that needs something more… Thanks for the suggestions.
Hi Peta! The little white spots on the apple I got them in the early stages using an embossing tool( mine was for nail decoration 🙂). See for inspiration Botanical Basics Lesson 23, Apple pattern… By the way, I love how realistic& detailed you made your branches look!
