This is really nice Pam! I think you captured the softness and delicacy of this rose, but I am missing the form. I think since the stem has a good range of toning on it I am especially missing toning on the rose itself. For example, I expect to see the right side of the bottom right petal to be in shadow in addition to a shadow cast by the fold on the same petal. There should also be a range of toning on the body of the rose itself starting dark and getting lighter as it moves right toward the light source. It can be trickier with light colored subjects, but even they have to have a range of toning from dark to light to convey they have form. For a light colored subject Earth Green works well for toning. I will sketch out areas I would tone and send it along. Hope this helps!

First rose study, trying to work out form and colour. This rose had outer petals that were almost cabbage like.
