Join us for a live online workshop! In this advanced workshop, we’ll tackle the inflorescence: a group or cluster of flowers arranged on a stem. Specifically, we’ll be drawing a hydrangea, so if you want to follow along, source a hydrangea of your own!* We will reference lessons in the new book, The Joy of Botanical Drawing.
THIS WORKSHOP IS TWO SESSIONS LONG. Please attend BOTH sessions! (if you are unable to attend, recordings will be provided)
FRIDAY, AUG 21: 12:30pm – 3:30pm EST (lessons, Q&A)
and
SUNDAY, AUG 23: 2:00pm – 4:00pm EST (critique)

Preparation:
Watch introductory videos (delivered via email).
Gather your art supplies.
Source a subject to draw. *If you’re concerned about sourcing a hydrangea for this workshop, consider searching in your area and online. Local florists will have hydrangeas available, but note that it’s good to order them a week ahead. Online you can also order hydrangeas that ship anywhere in the US (search “purchase hydrangeas online” to see some options). Order those a week ahead also.
Day 1 (Friday, August 21)
12:30pm-2:00pm: Introduction, Q&A, Drawing Lesson
2:00pm-3:30pm: Continue to draw and Q&A
Work on your drawings between now and Sunday.
Day 2 (Sunday, August 23)
Submit all drawings to Wendy and Vern via email by 10am EST
2:00pm-4:00pm: Discussion, critique, and final Q&A
