    Thanks, Vern! I think I need to work on the overlap on the flower underneath to differentiate the two separate flowers. The common name is called sweet pea. They’re really interesting plants. I think the wider part of the stem is a runner and the smaller leaves are popping off the wide stem where the new shoot of blooms has started. I took your advice and used chrome oxide green and red violet for the initial shading then a tiny bit of dark sepia for the final toning. I wondered about pressing too hard because I don’t see the softness in my drawings like I see in yours and Wendy’s. I also am not sure when about whether I should burnish each time or if it depends on the subject. Like yes for an acorn but no for a soft flower petal. I hope that makes sense!
