The Practice of Botanical Drawing Discussion Board 7 years, 1 month ago Hey Pam! I am very interested in what Vern or Wendy will say. My understanding is that a botanical drawing gives as much information as possible. With that in mind, I would say keep drawing, roots, blooms, buds…But, I understand your quandary too. Sometimes I love the plainness, the essence of a plant. So where do we start and stop here??? Is botanical drawing ‘artistic’ or is it ‘scientific’ ? (I think the answer may be to be produce a scientific drawing that is artistic!!)
