Hi Liz- nice smooth transitions on your tone bars. They look great! The individual tone blocks have some inconsistency. Make sure your pencil is nice and sharp. The first layers need to be even otherwise you are compounding the problem when other layers are added on top. I find if I am not happy with the smoothness of the tone I will use a kneaded eraser to erase almost all of it and I am left with a smooth even tone that is now my starting base. Somehow it is easier for me to move on with a smoother finish at that point. Another thing to try is turning your paper as you work on different layers. It seems to make a difference and also breaks the monotony that sometimes happens when you have a lot of toning to do. Seeing the exercise in purple was refreshing!
