Bonny, This lovely. Your color matching is wonderful, and I really like your attention to detail. You could push that 3 dimensional illusion a bit more by getting a little darker on the right right side of your branch, and maybe lifting out just a bit in highlight area. Also, be careful with your cast shadow. Do you see how your drawing has a white space between where the branch is and the cast shadow begins? You want your cast shadow to begin right where the edge of your form ends. I do see a bit of a white glow in that area in your photo of your specimen, but just ignore that, and get your colored pencil right up to the edge of your branch when you begin to draw that cast shadow.
