    • Hello Doug, I am working on a composition using two parts of an hibiscus plant. The drawings are on tracing paper and they are temporarily taped to the paper I wish to use. There is a negative space on the top right. Should I fill it in? Is the flower too big? I will appreciate any comment that you have – Pam’s too! I have the book ´Botanical art files – Composition ´ and would like to learn more on this topic. While I am waiting for your answer, I will take into account your suggestions for improving the ´croton’ drawing. Thank you very much for your well founded critiques.

    • Hi Helene- as you show it, I agree with you that it needs something in that space above the flower. You could put text there or some type of detail. However, I am struggling with the layout. I love the front on view! It makes me think of a stencil design for some reason. My first thought was wanting to incorporate the side view of the flower with the front on view. Then I thought of having two flowers, one on each side of the front on view. Personally I would try to have the flower (or flowers) on twigs that are coming from the front view. You do what speaks to you. I am sure you will do a wonderful job regardless!
