Hi Doug, The milkweed is pinker on this photo and also on the original drawing. This is Asclepias speciosa or Showy Milkweed and this specimen was taken in S-W Alberta in a protected native grass area. I wanted to draw the plant but could not pick it and set it up with the right lighting. I also used different photos to fit the drawing on the page. Therefore it was more than difficult to get the lighting right. Thank you so much for you detalied comments. They were exactly what I needed to improve this drawing. I would like to have a good drawing for the promotion of the monarch butterfly. I look forward to working on this and submit it again for you to look at.
