Level: All levels (perfect for beginners and beyond!)
Botanical Subjects: Wildflowers in your area, or any small flowers with tiny parts to magnify (in NY: lavender, milkweed, day lily, yarrow, trillium, Northern starflower, forget-me-not, etc.) Geraniums or tree blossoms can work as well.

Workshop Description

Get ready to take a closer look—literally! In this fun and relaxed online workshop, you’ll learn how to study and magnify small wildflowers to share their hidden beauty on a larger scale. Whether you’re admiring milkweed,  lavender, forget-me-not, or other wildflowers in your area, you’ll discover that some of the most breathtaking botanical details are tucked inside the tiniest blooms.

What We’ll Practice

🌼 Observation & Study of Small Flowers: Use magnifying tools to explore the fascinating details of petals, stamens, pistils, and more.
🎨 Drawing on a Larger Scale: Learn techniques for enlarging delicate flower parts without losing their natural charm or proportion.
✏️ Watercolor and Colored Pencil Techniques: Combine the fluidity of watercolor with the precision of colored pencils to create vibrant, dimensional drawings.
🖼️ Composition Tips for Engaging Artwork: Discover how to arrange magnified elements into a composition that tells a botanical story.
