Hi there. I am getting ready to do a winter journal entry for the Lucy Rose of Sharon hibiscus in our backyard that I am following. I emailed in a question the other day referring to the things pictured here as “seed pods”, which I now realize may not be the correct terminology. What would be the most accurate term to use here? Thanks for the input 🙂

Amy, those look like seed pods to me! The best way to tell would be to open one and see if there are seeds inside! 🙂 Removing a seed pod should not affect the potential for next year’s blooms; just don’t chop off a large branch and you should be good.
