Hi Becky, welcome to the ArtFeed! You are off to a good start. There are a couple of things that stand out that need to be worked on. I am missing the main highlight in the upper left quadrant and I would expand on the range of tones. You want to have 9 tones from the lightest (the color of the paper – your highlight) to #9, which is black. The right edge and bottom should be the darkest you can get it (#9) and then have smooth transitions of tone as you move left toward the highlight. The left edge should be a 3-4 on the tone scale and then smoothly transition right toward the highlight. The cast shadow is darkest at the edge of the sphere as you have shown, but then it will fade lighter as it moves away from the subject. You have started to do that, it just needs to be even smooth transitions. Those are the goals with this lesson – to show the full range of tones which are going to give the sphere it’s form and to practice doing nice even smooth layers of tone. Practice, practice, practice! You’ll get there!

I will do that. Thanks for the feedback!
