Hi Elizabeth- before doing these cylinders it would help to do the toning lessons. Making 10 squares and tone each square as it transitions from the color of the paper thru black. Remember to do nice even layers of tone. Then do the arc toning lesson which is toning a segment of a cylinder. From that point you will have those basic lessons under your belt and could tackle these elongated cylinders. Right now I am not seeing the smooth transition of tones that would convey these cylinders form. Also work on crisp even edges.
