Hi Elizabeth- you are off to a good start! Some things to consider – the top highlight needs to shift over to the left a little. I see ribbing on the subject and I would expect the highlights to be more rectangular than roundish. The bottom green section is missing the range of tones that would give it form. The left edge is too dark so that subject looks outlined. As that is the side closest to the light source it needs to be lighter. That edge would be 3-4 on the tone scale. The right edge would be the darkest and transition lighter as it moves left toward the highlight. The green sample in the middle on your color test looks like a really good color match, but using the dark green over top of the medium green the color got lost.
Your color matching is wonderful, Elizabeth! Doug’s suggestions are perfect. I also wonder whether your colored pencils are sharp enough. Try keeping your colored pencils really sharp, and build your layers very lightly and slowly. This will help get nice even tone, and gradual gradations.

Thank you Doug! I can see what you are saying!
