I felt like I struggled with this–the acorns are so small! Difficult to capture the detail of the cup and also burnish and apply multiple layers to such a tiny subject.

These are excellent, William! I know what you mean about the small pattern–difficult to show at this scale, for sure. But I think you did it beautifully. At this scale, it’s really all about suggesting that pattern as much as you can, by creating that interplay of dark and lights overlapping in a repeated way. (If you decide you want to really show the pattern accurately, I recommend enlarging your drawing 3 or 4x so that the scales become significantly larger than your pencil tip. That way you have more room for precision and details.) 🙂 This is an excellent page. You’re doing great.
Very nice. You did a great job toning these. You can feel their 3 dimensional form, and you can really tell where things are concave and convex. Really well done.
