Hi Carol- beautiful! The side view no longer reads as a cross section to me. The original blooms have great form and details! I think the new bud could use some toning. The empty space on the top left does not bother me, but I think a nice calligraphy with the name of the flower, etc. would look really good there. Vern is a master at that and maybe she would have some tips for you if you were interested.
Gorgeous, Carol! Re: lettering, I think that’s a great way to add a little something in that space on the top left. Either that or some reproductive parts of the flower… whichever feels right to you. I like to practice lettering on a separate piece of paper until it looks the way I want it, and then trace it onto the drawing. Less is more with lettering, and it can be done with just an H graphite pencil. Sometimes I’ll even type the name of the plant into my computer in a font I like, and use that as inspiration for the lettering. 🙂 Let me know if you want more tips. This drawing is stunning.
Pressing on…..Is the bud any less of a cross section?? The top left hand corner…needs filling??
