Cathie, This is such a lovely drawing. Beautiful colors, and really nice veining. I’m going to give you a few suggestions, but they are nit picky. This is really lovely as is. I think you could use light source to push that 3 dimensional form a bit more. Look at that part of the flower that is a cup/vase shape (all of the flower except for the petal on the far right). That section as a whole would have more shadow on its right side and bottom as that form turns away from the light. Think about how you would tone a cylinder/cup, and you could apply that to that to that part of the flower. Then there is a little section on that far right petal that confuses me just a bit. That main petal that is in front of all of the petals is on top of that far right petal. Just to the right of that main petal there is a light area of the far right petal (toward the top), where I think it would me more in shadow. If you darken that area a bit, I think it would help push that far right petal behind. And then you could add a little more dark right under the flower where it meets the stem and leaves. Am having trouble describing what I mean. Let me know if I am making sense.
Wonderful job Cathie! The colors are beautiful and I love the delicacy of the petals! Pam’s suggestions are great and could make this even more outstanding!
Lovely!
