Looking good, Carolyn! Pay close attention to the width of your branch. Usually a branch or a stem will appear wider the closer it is to the main stem or the ground, and then will taper and get smaller as it reaches the terminal end. In your drawing, the branch width appears to get thinner in the middle, which feels a little awkward. On your next branch, examine the width closely, and try to maintain it even when secondary branches come off the sides. You achieved a nice range of tones here, and your highlight is nice, but I would scoot the highlight over to the left just a little more so it does not appear in the center of your branch. Great start! Can’t wait to see what you post next! 🙂
Looking really nice, Carolyn! The consistency of the width of this branch is excellent. Beautiful dark tones and nice quiet shadow. Your highlight is still a little straight; try to break it up a little bit so it doesn’t feel like a straight line. If your branch has a textured bark, that can be a nice thing to follow and use to break up the highlight as it moves down the branch. Keep going!
My first project and attempt!
Great first attempt!!
beautiful!
Thank you !!
