I think all this needs is some more depth in the petals with a dark neutral like red-violet or dark sepia. I don’t think the petals are overworked, they just should feel more 3-dimensional. Define overlaps, and try to make that midvein in the center get skinnier as it reaches the top of the petal. This is a lovely study!!
