Nice! What do you think of the larger paper? I think your leaves here could have some more dimension and irregularity–maybe add some dark sepia in a few more places just to show that the leaf is not flat. Show us some dimension on the root as well–tone as if it were a cylinder and it will look more 3-dimensional. Same with the leaf stems–show us a shadow side to balance the nice highlights you have here. Great color on the beet itself.
Thank you, Vern! I surprised myself by liking the larger paper. I tend to love working small this it was a pleasant thing to discover! I was struggling with the leaves and knew I had more work to do on them. The one on the right was partially folded and I don’t think I showed that very well. The center leaf was folded in half so only the back side showed. I will make all the changes you recommended and take another photo. I think I’m a bit paranoid about adding too much dark sepia but I feel like I’m getting more comfortable over all. I really appreciate all your recommendations! 🙂 This isn’t anything that needs to be addressed while you’re in Greece (I hope you’re both having a great time) but I am unable to go to my notifications on this site unless I receive an email notification.
