Hi Deirdre- you are off to a good start! As I mentioned on your branch drawing, the left side should be a 3-4 on the tone scale and it transitions lighter as it moves toward the highlight. On the right side of your sphere, you have a nice dark tone at the edge, but it is too much of a controlled line. That darkest tone should seamlessly blend (transition) into your next tone which of course will be slightly lighter. It will keep transitioning lighter as you move left toward the highlight. The largest area on your sphere is the mid range tones and it is too uniform in tone. You should be able to see a transition of tone without seeing any seams between the various ranges of tone. That is the challenge! It takes some practice, but I am sure you can do it!

Thanks Doug. Considering I couldn’t even draw a circle 2 days ago, I’m quite pleased
You should be! The adjustments are minor and I am sure it will all fall in place for you as you continue to work through the lessons.
