Nice lichen, Denise. Your color matching is great. There are some areas where I’m seeing the grain of the paper, and I think you could go back in with a really sharp colored pencil, and lightly fill those in, or maybe even try burning to try to even things out. But great, fun drawing. Love it.
@pgthompson Thanks Pam, I am unsure where you are seeing the grain of the paper? If this is in the fronds on the far right, these are intentional embossed marks as these elements were full of raised type marks which I was trying to recreate.
Hi Denise- lichen are so much fun and there is so many examples to be found! As Pam said you did a great job with the colors and I like the raised bumps you did. I will let Pam address the areas she was talking about. I would suggest going in with a sharp pencil and selectively make parts in the background darker. It will add some contrast and delineate areas more. There are areas, especially along the bottom where I am struggling to see what is going on.

I see what you mean, Diane. THat makes sense. Maybe just crisp up some edges a bit if possible. It’s hard on such small subjects.
