Hi Douglas- ranunculus are such a beautiful flower! You have captured it’s essence and the colors are beautiful. I am a little confused because the flower looks like your light source was coming from the left, but the main stem shading is reversed. It would be easiest to change the stem so your shading reads as having the same light source. The flower is tricky because you want to shade it to illustrate it’s round form and also shade it to convey all the different layers of petals. You have captured the round form. I would go back in with probably verithins to shade and define where the petals meet and overlap. Something to think about next time is to not color all of the stem and leaves. These flowers in particular are very showy and demand to be the star. Check out some examples on line. It can be really effective with flowers like this.

Nice, fresh colors, Douglass! Wow, this is a tough flower, but you did a nice job. I agree with Doug that there could be some more variation of tone in the stems, leaves, and a few of the petals. Great job capturing the structure of this flower!
