We’re bringing back an old tradition on the Art Feed in the month of March: we’ll all try to post drawings from one particular Practice of Botanical Drawing Lesson. It’s fun when all of us are drawing and studying the same thing at the same time–it’s like we’re drawing together! This month, it’s Herbarium Pages from Lesson 5. To understand a flower, take it apart in a methodical way. Focusing on a flower is much easier when you isolate the subject rather than try to draw the whole plant, with many flowers and leaves clustered together.

Great idea!
