Hi Fiona- your notes are great questions and observations to keep in mind while doing roots! You are off to a great start and there are a couple of things I would point out. Be careful not to outline. Although very narrow you need to do arc toning on each root to convey that they are elongated cylinders. This will give each root form. Look at your roots again. There are a couple that should have cast shadows from overlapping roots and a couple that I would expect to be darker because where they are positioned.
Thanks Doug , your comments are really helpful . It was my first attempt at roots and I will take note for next time . I must get out of habit of outlining , I think it was because they were so narrow I felt the need, oh and I forgot all about the cast shadow so will go back and look . Thanks for your help .
