Thank you, Wendy for your Roses and Peonies workshop. This is the first time I have drawn a rose!

Wow, Harriet. You nailed it. Those rose leaves are some of the best I’ve seen. And the structure of the flowers is exquisite. That bud!!!!! One teeny thing: can you show or tell me who’s in front: the 2 sepals on the left side of the bud… they almost meld into the petal of the bud. Are they underneath that petal? If so, I would expect to see a little more dark toning there to show that overlap, or maybe even extend the petal over those sepals a bit more? I’m not sure, but that little spot is confusing me. (SO picky, I know, but I figure you can take it) 😉 Just gorgeous.

Hi Vern. Yes, I see what you mean. Maybe the sepals should go under the petals of the bud. I’ll give that a go. 🤔
Truly beautiful work – especially the leaves!
Thank you , Margaret. I usually like to draw plants with tropical colours or geometric shapes, so this was a new direction for me, and it was fun!
Beautiful! I love the frilly, curling edges of the petals!
