I’ve been thinking about why I’m hooked on drawing plants. It’s not just about the beauty of a flower in full bloom or the unusual form of a fruit or a pod. It’s about their complex, interconnected life cycles and their interdependence on other living things. So here’s my butterfly trio. I think they make these plants sing!
Oh my goodness Harriet!! I have just been drinking in all the details of your plant/insect drawings. This is phenomenal! When you mentioned them in the zoom meeting I was really hoping to see them, so thank you for sharing them here. Absolutely beautiful. I will study them closely to see if I can pick up any tricks. 🙂
I can’t even. I think this is my favorite of yours ever. That blossom on the left, and its dark center with the orange glow – I can’t stop looking. GORGEOUS.
This is exquisite Harriet. It feels like there is a celebration going on and everyone wants to attend! The flowers and buds are so enticing and not one but two butterflies are stopping by!

Thank you all for your kind words. I really enjoyed creating these drawings. The climbing oleander is one of my favourite flowers.
