Nice drawing. I really like the cross section! That touch of magenta really draws me in. My one comment would be that I think you could use some different colors for your mid and darker shading. The color you are using (Dark Sepia, I’m guessing) dulls the green. Definitely use it in the dark darks, but try a greener or bluer color for the rest of the shading. It would liven up the drawing. Also maybe some yellows in the highlights.

Yes!! This cross-section is awesome, Ishbel!!!!! You did a great job showing that hairy structure that sits above the “heart.” Really beautiful work.
I am enthralled with the cross section. Delicate and beautiful. What grace. I like Katy’s colour suggestions for the whole carciofi. But also like it as is. Now back to staring at the cross section with whom I am in love. Also dig your Art Deco writing. 🙂

Actually not so long. I did the basic drawing during the last Zoom workshop and then spent about 5 hours on it today.
