Oh wow, beautiful! It took me a moment to figure out which one was the drawing! 🙂 Really nice work with the puffy feathers at the bottom. And that pattern is exceptional!!! Great work. Can’t wait to see more!
Hi, Vern! Thank you for the kind feedback. The puffy part of the fearher I found it the most challenging to draw… Maybe I should magnify the section for a clearer details. Any suggestions will be helpful. Thanks
Julia, wow. Great drawing. I think it’s always a good idea to use a magnifying glass to see what’s going on in a subject. With that said, I think you did a fantastic job with the fluffy part. You might be able to go in to that area with an ivory or white colored pencil to just lightly add some more translucent bits?
I have also recently been getting into drawing feathers but haven’t reached these heights! I would love to see your process which looks like it included watercolor pencil?
Hi Margaret, thanks for appreciation. I have used a bit of watercolor (pencil) but only on the biginning for the initial colours. The most of the feather is done in colour pencil. I didn t really had a plan, I just went with the flow… By the way, your drawings are very beautiful and the Blue Jay feather… a little jewel!
My first feather…😅definitely, not the last

Hi, Pam! Thank you for the helpful tips. The aria is already overworked… However, I will use the suggested colours in my next drawing. Thanks a lot.
