Wonderful drawing Lulia! The color selection and saturation is great!!! The dark toning at the well and shadow of the stem are very well done! I think because that area and the top half of the apple is so good I would like to see more dark toning on the lower right side and bottom. That bottom half does not have the same great sense of form that you achieved on the top half.
The top of that apple is just beautiful. You really captured the way that stem is sitting way down in there. The rest of the apple is reading a little flat, because it’s mostly in midtones. The patterning, color, and detail that you achieved here is wonderful. I struggle with this, but it’s important to remember that in order to make your drawing look 3 dimensional to the viewer, you don’t always draw exactly what you see. Use a full range of values to give that apple volume. You sometimes need to exaggerate the highlight area a bit, and deepen the shadow areas a bit. I think if you go in and deepen the shadow on the lower right, you will get more 3D form. But seriously. Really nicely done. These are just suggestions to push it even further.
Hi Doug and Pam! Thanks a lot for your feedback. I will put the suggestions in practice and hopefully I will get the 3 dimensional look of my apple…🤞
