I think leaves are the hardest to illustrate and you are off to a good start. Leaves require a lot of observation and you can decide how much detail you want to include while still conveying the essence of the leaf. Be aware that the secondary veins usually do not stop at the leaf edge, but curve up near the edge. I like the toning of your leaves at the top of the page. The green leaf on the bottom left could use more toning especially along the main vein. The back view is good and I like your shadows on all of the leaves. Keep up the good work!

Agreed! This is a great start on leaves, Pam, and it can take some time to feel comfortable with all the nuances that leaves present to us. I agree with Doug about the secondary veins here, and I’ll add that I think those ones on the top left could be even thinner–more like the ones on the bottom left. Great work. Keep going! 🙂
