This is a great drawing Catherine! It is beautifully rendered! I can tell from the cast shadows that you have conflicting light sources. For the drawing standards we follow, you want to have a single light source. The light would come from the right or left at a 45 degree angle depending if you are left or right handed. Cast shadows are also lighter so they do not conflict with the main subjects. For this particular drawing I would lighten the cast shadows a little, but otherwise it has a lot of charm and I really like having the fruit back lit. Beautiful!
Thankyou for your advice I really appreciate it. The shadows and light are a bit random as I do not have proper lighting yet. I have invested in a good light that should be here soon, so that the light will be consistent. Using natural light is nice but it is always changing.
