Hi Leslie- #1 has nice toning, but I am finding it difficult to easily see the highlight and the lighter toning that would surround it. The balance of the toning is nice and smooth with a good range. #2 could use some lightening around the highlight and the addition of more dark toning that you did so successfully on the first sphere. #3 the highlight area is much better. I think the dark area on the right and bottom could still be darker. The reflected highlight should have some tone to it. It is not the same color as the main highlight. The green tomato needs a range of mid-tones. There is a thin sliver of dark toning and then it jumps to a mid-tone that doesn’t have much variation. Keep thinking of the arch tone bar exercises you have on your paper. That range of tones should be evident on the spheres and tomato too! Try doing another tomato and incorporating the reflected highlight on that one. Keep up the good work!
Third time’s a charm! #3 has nice smooth toning and a good cast shadow. You could quiet that reflective highlight just a bit, as Doug said. Keep going! You’re doing great!
