Hi Liesbeth- this is a good rendering of the branch. There are a couple of things to do to make it more successful. The thing that strikes me right away is the shadow is way too dark and it is dominating the drawing. I don’t know if you were able to see yesterday’s Webinar. If not, I would check it out because we talked a lot about doing cast shadows and there were many examples of successful ones. Also be aware that shadows are much darker at night or on cloudy days and it is not a good time to add them to a drawing. Your drawing in the photograph is not as easy to see as the actual branch, but I can see that you need to add some toning to give form to the branch. The lessons on arc toning (toning a cylinder) are good to work on and conquer as most plants have cylindrical components to them. Hope this helps!
