Hi Andrea, your acorns are looking good. My one suggestion is that the scales on the coast live oak probably have a more overall pattern rather than spaced out as yours seem to be. Love how you are saturating and getting good color and contrast.

I think this is a great study, and my only comment is to show the texture on the cap more; like Wendy said, those scales are probably more numerous and closer together in real life. (Though those minute details are the toughest!) Great work.
