It’s not what I’m “supposed “ to be working on, but it’s blooming in my garden and smells so good! The graphite studies on the left were from a year ago. I did the color drawings yesterday.
Oh, sorry, it’s daphne odora, a flowering, evergreen shrub that smells amazing at this time of year, in Portland at least! Sorry you guys are buried in snow! But on the other hand, I always find a lot of beauty and inspiration in the new shapes that are formed in the landscape with snow, so enjoy that for me!
First week of Autumn for me in Sydney – it’s sweaty and hot one minute and rainy and muggy the next. We dearly need the rain though – it’s been such a dry summer. Lots of lovely crisp brown grass 🙁

Amazing. I like the look of the entire page with all the different aspects of your plant, even your colour swatches on the bottom. But what is it?
It’s wonderful to see all these flowering bushes while we are still in the deep freeze! Beautiful colour toning.
Great page, full of life! We are having a heavy snowstorm right now!
