Hi Marci, The mountain laurel bloom here in late May to late June. I will try and plan a lesson on them and similar flowers, though they are unique! I would start by saying isolate one flower and one bud. Then view under magnification, even a dissecting microscope if you have one. Draw one flower and one bud enlarged from three different views. Focus on the structure not, the color or pattern made by color. Enlarge the flower mathematically and get the proportions correct. I know you can do it!
