Enjoyed the process and hope to get better with practice. Struggled with main highlights in both graphite and coloured drawing. Did I get the cast shadow right? Please let me know what you think.
Hi Marie- as Pam said previously your graphite drawing was really well done, but I have to say the color version is even better! Really wonderful!!! The colors seem spot on and it just glows as nectarines can do! The main highlight really stands out on the color version and enhances the drawing. The cast shadow looks good – it angles back at the correct degree and fades as it moves away from the subject. I am glad you persevered and also did the color version. Congratulations on a great job!!!
Thank you, Doug! I’m so happy to read this! Yours and Pam’s recent feedback, motivate me to keep at it! Also, it encourages me to show what I’m doing. I’ve felt a bit intimidated, to post my work, but am finding it’s a safe place, that can only help me to learn and improve. 😊
Hi Marie- I think it is safe to say we are all happy you are finding the ArtFeed a positive experience! And we get to see your artwork so it is a win – win!!!!
Marie! This looks fantastic. Great job. The skin looks really shiny – true to nectarine. Forgive me if I’m repeating something already said – I think you could blend your cast shadow a bit smoother between that dark dark right next to the fruit and the lighter toning next to it – aim for a smooth transition 🙂 It already looks awesome – just a tiny thing! Cute leaf too 🙂
