You are off to a good start Marilyn! Adding a range of toning would help emphasize the round form and I would lighten the highlight a little. After adding toning you could add more color saturation. The cast shadow should be on the right side and angle back at a 45 degree angle. It should start dark and transition lighter as it moves away from the orange. The shadow does need to be this dark as it tends to compete with the main subject.
Now trying a citrus fruit! Again – plenty of room for improvement but much joy had in the process!
